What is crazy, is that if you really LOOK for God you will see Him in every area of your life.
Yesterday I was having a conversation with my sister, and we were talking about how certain things happen throughout the day, which make it very clear that God is speaking to us and/or giving us a lesson, protecting us or leading the way for something. For instance, when you get so mad that you are running late or your “morning” didn’t go the way you planned…who knows, maybe you are missing a fatal accident and God is actually sparing your life?! I know that I have a bad habit, of just “getting annoyed” when things don’t go right, instead of “thank you Jesus”- but that is exactly what I should be doing. If we pray for God to be in control of every area of our life, and we are completely surrendered to Him.. Don’t you think He knows already? It is such a battle to really try and train your mind to look for God in everything, to thank Him when things go “wrong” because you never know the amount of grace He is really giving us, to be positive and take the lessons humbly. Even when Justice decides to do the same things over and over that I KNOW WILL HURT HER, BUT SHE HAS NO IDEA, and i have to keep telling her “no, you can’t do that, trust me”…there is a huge lesson in that. How many times does God have to tell me to give up something that will potentially HURT me? Trust, one of the key factors in a relationship between parent & child. The parent has the knowledge, the wisdom, the understanding to know that things will hurt, bring danger, harm or even kill the child- but the child only knows “I want that”. A child is fully dependent on the parent- which is how we should be with God. Dependent on the fact that HE IS GUIDING Us, PROTECTING US & TELLING US NO FOR A REASON. God shows up more often than not in my everyday, but it is up to me to realize it. When I am in the store, God knew exactly what time I would be there, right? So don’t you think His Holy Spirit is placing some sort of “divine appt” there, ready for me to be obedient? Maybe it is the person behind you in line that is rushing you, the cashier who is annoyed, or even the person who cut you off in the parking lot. They probably need an encounter with you (really, what is inside you) more than you realize. Being positive, and knowing that God has already set it up & thanking Him for the opportunity will radically change the way we/I go about our daily lives.
my daily prayer is that I find Him moving in my daily life, every moment is a lesson.
