“Yet you don’t have what you want because you don’t ask God for it.And even when you ask, you don’t get it because your motives are all wrong-you want only what will give you pleasure” James 4:2-3
Just because God DOESNT do something…DOESNT mean HE CANT do it
God is able- no matter what. Usually tho, He has a plan behind every delay or “no”. He knows that if he gives us something that we are not ready for, something that seems good, or something that could potentally cause us to sin-most of the time He will not give it to us. Also, if you ask God for something that is completely against His Kingdom values and is super of this world (it will not honor His kingdom, ex: “oh, please God all I want is to go to this worldly concert, please provide the funds” hahahaa No for obvious reasons) – that could very well be another reason as to why it seems like he is not answering your prayers.
A NO is still an answer to prayer
God will not lie and He also will not set us up for failure. Our prayers need to be based on Holy things, helping others, and for things that will help us advance the Kingdom. He is a good, good Father and He loves to give good gifts, but why would He give you all the selfish desires of your heart, things that will eventually ruin you? Nobody likes selfish brats (or whinny 2 yr olds lol!) but its nice to give to people who are grateful. God wants to help us- to give us every tool we need to succeed- He wants us to pray for Godly things that He deposits into our spirit. I like in the scripture where it says “yet you dont have what you want because you don’t ask God for it”. How many times are we afraid to ask God for things? eh maybe I’m just talking to myself here- but asking God to help you with “big purchase” things, or even “small, meaningless” things sometimes is pretty hard. In my mind I always try to talk myself out of asking for it-before I even do. I feel like God has so much to deal with (hahaa) so why should I bother him with my family wants, needs or desires. Yes, God can read our mind& He already kows what we want before we ask- but the scripture doesnt say to “think really hard about everything you want”…it says ASK! (yes, there is a few scriptures completely talking about just asking God for things). Whatever we ask for, if we are following the Holy Spirit and have a pure heart- God would love to answer IN HIS TIMING! Sometimes your answer to prayer is on the other side of a “struggle”. It’s not all perfect sunshine and roses all the time, sometimes you ask and ask God for something, and in order to be grateful & have everything work out- you must deal with hardship or loss. I said earlier “his timing” because as humans we constantly want everything now & without struggle, but that isn’t always God’s way. God will move mountains, create miracles, and show up at just the right time to answer our prayers, we just have to pray, ask/be specific & trust that He will come through, He always does 🙂
